Varsity Assistant Coach - Girls Lacrosse

Job DetailsJob Location: Cannon School - Concord, NC 28027 The Varsity Assistant Coach is expected to support the Head coach. An Athletic Coach at Cannon School is responsible for motivating and teaching Cannon School athletes in a mission-aligned program to compete at the highest level and represent Cannon School by living out Cannons core values. The coach will work within the athletics department not only for the betterment of the program, but to promote athlete participation in all sports. This position will report to the Varsity Head Coach. RESPONSIBILITIES: Attend all preseason and postseason individual meetings with the Athletic Director as well as staff development leadership seminars led by the Athletic Department (56 in person or virtual meetings per school year) Support the Head Coach in developing and executing a regular practice plan Articulate your strengths and set your role in the program with the Head Coach Assist with evaluation of students athletic abilities on an ongoing basis Ensure core values of Cannon School are consistently presented and enforced Support of multisport participation for student-athletes Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student athletes Adhere to the policies, procedures, and guiding principles of the Cannon School Athletic Handbook Work in tandem with Athletic Training staff to properly handle injury prevention and treatment Display a willingness to grow and develop through coaching clinics, seminars and observation with feedback Abide by the rules of the NCISAA Qualifications A minimum of 1 year of coaching experience preferred at the middle or high school level or 2 years of playing experience at the high school level or above Must be able to arrive at least an hour before the start of competitions and on time daily for practice.
