Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU travel position working nights, with required ACLS and NIHSS certifications and a minimum of 1-2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Neuro ICU setting within a Certified Stroke Center
• Patient ratio is 2:1
• Specialized procedures include EVD management, vent management, and stroke management
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 6:45 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling will be considered
• Float required to other ICU units
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required
• Current certifications required at time of consideration: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant ICU nursing experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups will be accepted
• RTO of no more than 3 days will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Responsibilities include coordinating patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, conducting discharge planning, and delegating tasks to unlicensed personnel in compliance with the Board of Nursing
