Construction Manager

Primary Responsibilities Lead construction field services business development and expansion of HDR’s construction services program in the western United States, with a focus on Western Colorado. Plan, direct and manage construction contracts and projects of varying size and complexity. Coordinate resources and manage multiple projects concurrently. Develop and cultivate client relationships with federal, state and local agencies. Prepare proposals, support marketing efforts and participate in identification, proposal development and technical delivery of construction management projects using both traditional and non‑traditional delivery methods nationwide. Engage program management initiatives, directing coordination with multiple consultants, contractors and agencies, and facilitate sequencing of projects across HDR’s business lines and practices. Recruit, mentor and lead engineering and construction professionals; manage 10+ employees and provide coaching for professional growth. Preferred Qualifications MS in Engineering or related discipline (preferred). PE or PG (preferred). Minimum of 20 years of project management experience. Extensive knowledge and practice of FHWA and CDOT policies and procedures. Excellent marketing and business development skills with contacts in relevant disciplines. Demonstrated strategic planning and leadership abilities. Proficient communication, planning and mentoring skills. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science or a closely related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction planning and management (field engineering, submittals, estimating, scheduling, and site safety). Experience with Microsoft Office. Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Prolog, Primavera, Bluebeam, etc. Commitment to participating in HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
