Job Description HVAC Warehouse / Store Manager Starting Pay: $45,000-$50,000 (based on experience) Job Type : Full‑time We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and customer‑focused HVAC Warehouse / Store Manager to lead the daily operations of our HVAC supply branch. This is a hands‑on management position for someone who takes ownership, leads by example, and is comfortable working alongside their team. The Store Manager is responsible for employees, customer service, inventory, warehouse operations, deliveries, counter sales, and the overall performance of the branch. Our business can be extremely fast paced, so the right candidate must be able to prioritize, make sound decisions, and keep the team organized under pressure. During slower periods, we expect the Store Manager to be proactive, improving processes, organizing the branch, training employees, and preparing for future business needs. Previous management experience is required. HVAC industry experience is preferred but not required. Key Responsibilities Branch Operations Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the warehouse and counter‑sales areas. Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient branch. Coordinate employee schedules and daily workflow based on customer and business needs. Oversee receiving, stocking, picking, staging, transfers, returns, and deliveries. Ensure company policies, procedures, and safety standards are followed. Continually identify ways to improve productivity, organization, and efficiency. Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory and minimize discrepancies. Oversee receiving, put‑away, transfers, returns, warranty items, and cycle counts. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly. Ensure products are properly labeled, stored, and easily accessible. Work with purchasing and management to maintain appropriate product availability. Provide exceptional service to contractors, technicians, homeowners, and other customers. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers. Assist with product selection, availability, pricing, and order requirements. Support counter sales and identify opportunities to grow branch sales. Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently. Lead by example in providing the level of service our customers expect. Leadership & Employee Development Lead, coach, train, and develop branch employees. Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance. Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, evaluations, and disciplinary processes. Provide employees with the training and support necessary to succeed. Create a positive, professional, accountable, and team‑oriented work environment. Logistics & Deliveries Coordinate daily delivery schedules to meet customer needs efficiently. Ensure orders are accurately picked, staged, and prepared for delivery. Address delivery, scheduling, and service issues promptly. Ensure company vehicles, equipment, and warehouse resources are properly maintained. Coordinate with customers, sales personnel, and other branches to ensure materials are available when needed. Branch Performance Monitor sales, gross profit, expenses, and overall branch performance. Work toward established sales, profitability, and operational goals. Identify opportunities to increase sales, improve efficiency, and control expenses. Maintain accurate operational records and provide updates to management. Take ownership of the overall performance and success of the branch. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years of management experience required. Warehouse, branch, store, or operations management experience strongly preferred. HVAC industry experience or knowledge preferred but not required. Proven leadership and employee‑management skills. Strong organizational, scheduling, and time‑management abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to make sound decisions and remain organized in a fast‑paced environment. Strong computer skills and ability to learn company‑specific software. Ability to safely lift and move HVAC equipment, parts, and materials as required. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Preferred Experience HVAC distribution or HVAC industry experience. Knowledge of residential and/or commercial HVAC equipment, parts, tools, and materials. Inventory management and cycle‑count experience. Purchasing or vendor‑management experience. Ability to read and understand HVAC equipment specifications. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. What We're Looking For Above all, we are looking for someone who will take ownership of the branch. This is not a position where the manager simply directs others from an office. The successful candidate must be willing to step in wherever needed to keep the operation running smoothly. On any given day, that may mean working in the warehouse, helping a contractor at the counter, coordinating deliveries, resolving an inventory or warranty issue, coaching an employee, handling a difficult customer situation, or working with upper management on branch performance. We are looking for a manager who is proactive , dependable, organized, and comfortable making decisions. The right person will lead by example and maintain high standards of customer service, accountability, teamwork, safety, and professionalism.
