Student Engagement and Leadership Manager The University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) is seeking a dedicated, student-centered professional to serve as the Student Engagement and Leadership Manager. The role involves guiding the development and execution of the Student Activities Board, campus clubs, and service-learning events throughout the academic year. As a vital part of the Campus Life team, the manager works hands‑on with students to empower them to drive campus programming and cultivate a vibrant university experience. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Excellent organization and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to lead, advise, and coordinate student groups. Demonstrated ability to strategically perform UA HR and fiscal responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to apply student development theory and social justice practices to performing job duties on a regular basis. Ability to perform supervisory duties over a small staff. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to work evenings and potentially holidays due to on-campus events. Typical Experience Two years of relevant experience, preferably in higher education and coordinating large-scale events. Experience working successfully with people of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Required Education or Training Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of progressively responsible relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience (working in a college or university and/or with large scale events). A valid driver’s license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria. Position Details This full-time, 11‑month, exempt staff position is located on the UAS campus in Juneau, AK. It includes a competitive salary and full employee benefits package, including retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage under the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79.
