Job Description

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing quality care to patients by assessing their needs and developing tailored treatment plans. This role will involve implementing therapeutic programs, promoting independence, and preparing patients for return to employment while working collaboratively with a healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and interpret evaluations and test results to determine occupational therapy treatment plans.
• Implement programs to help patients develop or regain physical or mental functioning.
• Promote maximum independence through customized therapeutic activities and training.
• Consult with employers regarding patient placement, potential difficulties, and necessary accommodations.
• Evaluate and document patient progress; recommend adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
• Contribute to discharge planning and provide necessary education to patients and families for continued care.
• Ensure compliance with safety and infection control policies while maintaining documentation and operational standards.
• Engage in professional development to maintain knowledge of best practices in occupational therapy.
• Supervise and develop rehab aides and staff members to enhance service delivery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Possession of an Occupational Therapy License issued by the state of Colorado.
• Valid registration certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
• Prior experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred.
• Knowledge of principles for diagnosing and treating physical and mental dysfunctions.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Schedule

This position follows a Monday to Friday schedule, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a commitment of at least 40 hours per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
