About The Position Position Summary The MVD Service Representative works with the public to provide motor vehicle services including licensing, titling, and permits. The role requires timeliness, accuracy, security, validation of documents, and coordination with Arizona Revised Statutes and Department of Transportation policies and procedures. Job Duties Process credentials and title work, examining documents and applications for accuracy, validity, and security per ADOT and MVD rules, statutes (ARS Title 28), policies, and procedures. Answer customer questions and provide customer service for vehicle or credential records through system research, document review, and service history. Data entry and review is required. Administer testing, including operator knowledge and skills testing. Conduct level 1 vehicle inspections, including VIN validation. Capture customers' photo, signature, and application information for credential eligibility/issuance. Determine, collect, and evaluate fees & use general accounting procedures to balance accounts. Secure and protect all personal identity information (PII) and inventory. Participate in process improvement activities; identify potential gaps and recommend solutions to gain efficiencies, reduce cost, and increase customer service. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, ADOT/MVD rules, regulations, processes, and procedures. Ability to apply customer service principles and best practices with a customer‑centric focus. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to type and use a keyboard at a pace consistent with expected productivity. Proficiency in operating a PC/computer, proprietary MVD software, and standard office equipment. Ability to adapt to a changing work environment, including updates to processes and procedures. Ability to work effectively in an office environment, including standing or sitting for extended periods and working outdoors when necessary. Weekend availability required. Preferred Qualifications This is an entry‑level training position and does not require prior experience. One year of previous MVD experience in title, registration, and/or driver’s licenses is preferred, or successful completion of training and adherence to performance standards (typically within six months). Pre‑Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Background check and fingerprinting are required. Employees who drive on state business must possess a current, valid class‑appropriate driver’s license, complete required training, and maintain acceptable driving records. They must also maintain required liability insurance if operating a personally owned vehicle on state business.
