Our General Labor positions start at $18.00, and $1.00 shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts, and we are paid weekly. The General Laborer will assist in various physical tasks in a fast-paced environment. The role requires the ability to work efficiently and safely. They will assist the designated machine operator or production team in a variety of functions including but not limited to cup loading, case making, manual case-packing, palletizing of product, banding and wrapping of pallets, cleaning and other tasks as assigned.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Operate manual and semi-automatic packaging equipment in a safe and timely manner
• Ensures compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, food safety culture, quality and facility cleanliness
• Participate in machine and area cleaning in a safe and timely manner
• Locate and retrieve materials
• Load packaging materials into machine
• Pack and handle finished goods
• Apply labels to finished good pallets
• Operate manual pallet jack and electric pallet stacker
• General housekeeping
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to work with chemicals and cleaning products

Food safety responsibilities:

• Producing products free of contamination
• Following all Ken's Foods Security and GMP policies
• Reporting any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant
• Inspection of work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis

Supervisory responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and abilities:

Language skills: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
