Our oral surgery practice is seeking a highly organized, clinically confident, and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our specialty surgical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys hands-on patient care, procedural support, patient education, and perioperative coordination in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Position Overview

\n

As the RN in our oral surgery practice, you will play an integral role in supporting patients throughout their surgical journey, from pre-operative preparation and clinical review to sedation support, recovery monitoring, discharge, and follow-up care.

\n

You will work closely with surgeons, surgical assistants, anesthesia/sedation protocols, administrative staff, and outside providers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

\n

What You’ll Do

\n

Pre-Operative Patient Care & Clinical Review

\n

\n
• Conduct pre-operative patient communication and preparation
\n
• Review medical histories, medications, allergies, and clinical readiness for treatment
\n
• Obtain and document vital signs and patient updates
\n
• Assist with history and physical review, chart preparation, and clinical documentation
\n
• Help ensure patients are fully prepared for surgery from a clinical and safety standpoint
\n

\n

Sedation, Surgical, and Procedural Support

\n

\n
• Start and manage IV access as appropriate
\n
• Support IV sedation and anesthesia-related workflows in accordance with office protocols
\n
• Assist with patient monitoring before, during, and after procedures
\n
• Provide clinical support to surgeons during surgical days
\n
• Maintain emergency preparedness protocols, including crash cart oversight and readiness
\n

\n

Recovery & Discharge

\n

\n
• Monitor patients during the immediate post-operative recovery phase
\n
• Assess patient status and communicate concerns promptly to the surgeon
\n
• Support safe discharge processes and post-operative recovery instructions
\n
• Provide clear patient and family education regarding post-op expectations, medications, and follow-up care
\n

\n

Patient Communication & Clinical Coordination

\n

\n
• Triage patient questions and post-operative concerns with professionalism and compassion
\n
• Coordinate with pharmacies regarding prescriptions and medication-related needs
\n
• Communicate with referring offices, outside providers, and hospital/OR teams as needed
\n
• Support continuity of care from consultation through recovery
\n

\n

Documentation, Compliance & Clinical Oversight

\n

\n
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
\n
• Support office compliance, infection control, and patient safety protocols
\n
• Assist with medication, emergency, and clinical supply oversight as appropriate
\n
• Help maintain a calm, organized, and clinically excellent patient care environment
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
\n
• Current BLS certification required
\n
• ACLS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
\n
• Strong clinical judgment and patient assessment skills
\n
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient setting
\n
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
\n
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
\n

\n

Preferred Experience

\n

\n
• Experience in outpatient, surgical, procedural, perioperative, or recovery nursing
\n
• Experience with IV starts, sedation monitoring, or anesthesia support
\n
• Experience in PACU, ASC, oral surgery, ENT, plastics, or dental anesthesia is a plus
\n
• Familiarity with emergency preparedness and medication/sedation protocols preferred
\n

\n

Oral surgery experience is a plus, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate with strong clinical fundamentals and a patient-centered mindset.
