Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you provide safe and reliable maintenance support in a large, continuous-process manufacturing plant. You apply strong mechanical and electrical/electronic skills to keep production equipment running, support machine uptime metrics, and actively participate in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance activities. You work closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex equipment issues and ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained facility.

Responsibilities

• Work safely at all times, both inside and outside the building, and promptly report any unsafe conditions to the appropriate safety representative.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment to support continuous manufacturing operations and achieve machine uptime goals.
• Perform mechanical maintenance tasks involving pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, and lubrication systems.
• Carry out electrical and electronic evaluations and repairs, including low-voltage control systems and AC/DC motors and drives.
• Use PLC knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and interpret and work from electrical schematics.
• Read and understand hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to diagnose and correct system problems.
• Research and recommend equipment, tools, and materials needed to complete maintenance projects effectively and efficiently.
• Identify and research required parts when performing mechanical and electrical work, particularly when parts are not immediately available for repairs.
• Perform proficient MIG welding and basic operations on mill and lathe equipment to support fabrication and repair work.
• Fabricate moderately complex equipment tooling, jigs, mechanical fixtures, and related components to support production and maintenance needs.
• Utilize TIG welding skills when applicable to enhance fabrication capabilities.
• Collaborate with other technicians by informing them of issues with repairs and seeking guidance or assistance when needed.
• Support HVAC-related maintenance tasks and contribute to overall facility systems reliability.
• Assist with PLC troubleshooting and basic PLC programming as required to maintain equipment performance.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned to support plant operations and reliability.

Work Environment

You work in a large, well-lit, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment designed for continuous process operations. The facility houses a variety of production equipment and systems, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, HVAC, and PLC-controlled machinery. You regularly use tools such as welding equipment (MIG and potentially TIG), mills, lathes, and standard maintenance instruments to perform repairs and fabrications. The environment emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork, with structured preventive maintenance processes and access to business-specific training. The dress code is typical of an industrial setting, requiring appropriate work attire and safety gear suitable for a plant environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
