Job Title

Travel RN – Emergency Room

Location

Salem, VA | Emergency Department

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Full-Time | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 27-bed Emergency Department with patient ratios of 4–6:1
• Perform and assist with procedures including RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, and central line placement
• Manage care of psychiatric patients and coordinate transfers to other facilities in accordance with EMTALA guidelines
• Utilize Meditech EMR for accurate and timely documentation
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, staff RNs, and medics across day shift operations
• Participate in weekend shift rotation — expected four weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday for days) within a four-week scheduling period

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Virginia or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2–3 years of Emergency Room experience
• Must have completed 2–3 prior travel assignments
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Comfortable working in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in high-volume, high-acuity Emergency Departments
• Familiarity with patient ratios of 5:1
• Additional certifications such as ENPC, NRP, or NIH Stroke Scale preferred
• Relaxed, team-oriented, and adaptable personality well-suited to a collaborative environment
