CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist Overview A manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and CNC machines to produce metallic and nonmetallic components. This role focuses on precision machining, quality standards, and safe operation of equipment. Key Responsibilities Determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements using blueprints, sketches, manuals, specifications, or sample parts Perform First Article inspections and in-process measurements to ensure quality compliance Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on mills, lathes, grinders, and other equipment Calculate and set machining parameters such as speed, feed rate, coolant flow, and depth or angle of cut Start and monitor machine operations to identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary adjustments Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC Machinist Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documentation Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow detailed instructions Experience in a medium to large manufacturing environment preferred Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Ability to stand for extended periods of time Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation Paid holidays and paid time off (vacation and sick time) Medical, dental, and vision coverage Retirement savings plan with employer contribution Paid parental leave Flexible scheduling and part-time opportunities (where applicable) Employee referral incentives Mentorship and professional development opportunities Relocation assistance available for eligible candidates Pay Details: $24.00 to $33.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
