Maintenance Technician III

Abbott seeks a Maintenance Technician III for its La Jolla cancer diagnostics facility to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and facility systems. The role includes emergency response, work order management, regulatory compliance, and potential backup support to senior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and demand maintenance on facility systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire safety
• Enter, prioritize, and complete work orders in CMMS with accurate documentation and GMP compliance
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly building inspections and respond to system alarms
• Manage spare parts inventory, communicate safety issues to management, and assist with facility projects
• Participate in emergency response for utility outages and equipment failures

Requirements

• Proficiency with electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and instrumentation systems
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Knowledge of GMP, OSHA, FDA, and USDA regulatory requirements
• Ability to troubleshoot facility infrastructure and control systems independently
• Strong documentation and written communication skills
• Physical capability to lift up to 75 pounds and work standing 75% of the day
• Willingness to work on-call, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
