Health And Physical Education/ Driver Education Teacher

This position is for Pleasantville Public Schools in Pleasantville, New Jersey. The job title is Health And Physical Education/ Driver Education Teacher. The qualifications include holding a New Jersey instructional certificate, Teacher of Health and Physical Education and Driver Education endorsement and other appropriate endorsement(s) in accordance with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 18A:27.1 et seq., and N.J.A.C. Title 6 Chapter 11. The candidate should have excellent experience in teaching and working with children, demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and concisely in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary. The candidate should have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for work processing, data management, information retrieval, visual presentations, and telecommunications.

The job goal is to promote pupils' safety, wellness, health maintenance and physical fitness; provide pupils with an understanding of the relationship of a healthy body to healthy behaviors; and to cultivate knowledge and skills that are conducive to good physical and mental health. The candidate will assume professional responsibility for providing learning experiences and supervision of assigned students in a supportive and positive classroom climate that develops in each child the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet and exceed the State Core Curriculum Content Standards, following the approved curricula and directives of the school.
