Medicaid Proposal Writer As a Medicaid Proposal Writer, you will play a critical role in the quality of our RFP responses and the efficiency of the whole team. As the Proposal Writer, you will continuously strive to increase your knowledge of Aetna Medicaid, products offered, and industry best practices to develop thoughtful, strategic, compliant responses to RFPs/RFI. This role is a work-from-home opportunity, which can be based anywhere in the United States. Job Responsibilities Work on writing assignments varying in length and detail supporting strategic, functional, and operational topics across the entire proposal Collaborate with Capture and Proposal Managers, Proposal Directors, and Subject Matter Experts to outline and prepare final proposal responses Analyze proposal sections and content development to identify connections, ensure alignment, and support a cohesive overall narrative Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify and collect pertinent information for compliant and compelling responses, update resumes, write past performances, and develop other proposal responses; leverage past proposals or the proposal library to establish a first draft Conduct qualitative and quantitative research and analyze data to help formulate new content focused on client solutions that highlight company differentiation, innovation, and operational strategies Collaborate with Graphic Designers on proposal graphics and visual storytelling Actively participate in proposal meetings, color team reviews, and status meetings through the entire proposal process as defined by the proposal timelines Develop a proposal response that aligns with internal quality standards, bid guidance and adheres to proposal requirements in a compliant and compelling manner Develop creative strategies that effectively articulate customer needs and win themes critical to generating business goals Maintain expert understanding of Aetna Medicaid products and services Support the content management lifecycle by working with SMEs to identify new content for the Medicaid Content Library (MCL) Actively engage in team meetings and openly accept and share new ideas to drive innovation and creativity Develop strong work relationships with health plan leaders, proposal peers and SMEs to support business goals to win and retain business Support and drive ongoing development of internal processes and procedures, including scorecards, quality business reports, style guides, and internal measures for performance Required Qualifications Five plus years of experience as a proposal writer (or equivalent experience) 3 years of experience with Medicaid proposals Excellent written and verbal communications skills Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office products including SharePoint, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint Exceptional organizational, project management, analytical, and innovative problem‑solving skills Ability to travel up to 15% Experience collaborating across departments and organizational levels Demonstrates the understanding of Associated Press and internal style guides Preferred Qualifications APMP Bid/Proposal Foundation Certification (recommended) Education Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Writing, English, Communications, Healthcare Policy, or equivalent work experience Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $75,400.00 – $165,954.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
