Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit, utilizing advanced clinical skills and evidence-based practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patients conditions continuously to identify changes and adjust care plans accordingly.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing protocols.
  
  
• 
  Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and neurological status, leveraging Epic electronic health records.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and implement interventions.
  
  
• 
  Document all patient interactions, assessments, and treatments accurately and promptly.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to safety policies, including BLS, ACLS, and NIH requirements, ensuring compliance with institutional guidelines.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid RN license; Virginia license pending accepted with in-hand license by Wednesday prior to start.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of 1 year of recent critical care or stepdown nursing experience.
  
  
• 
  Proven proficiency in Epic electronic medical records system.
  
  
• 
  Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and adapt to floating policies within scope of practice.
