Supports two nearby distribution centers in North Wales and New Britain, Pennsylvania.

**Needing local candidates within 30 minutes of site location.

Shift schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm EST

• Location: Onsite; strongly prefers local candidates
• Background: Pharma experience preferred (food industry acceptable); distribution background preferred over manufacturing (boxes, not pills)
• Experience: 5+ years in a manager-level role, ideally at a pharma distribution center
• Skills valued: Root cause analysis, audits; role involves significant training
• Culture fit: Needs strong alignment/trust-building with EHS culture — noted as a gap in a previous candidate
• Team: Very tenured distro team, will help onboard the new hire
• Reports: No direct reports, but hosts a safety council
• Facility: ~1,200 active SKUs; part of world's largest drug manufacturer; broad supply chain
• Travel: 1 day/week to second client location (~10 min commute)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or other relevant discipline required
• Professional certifications such as: CSP, CIH preferred
• 5+ years of EHS experience including management and technical knowledge (such as: waste, water, air emissions, audit and inspection, industrial hygiene, hazard communication, ergonomics, and EHS management systems)
• Basic knowledge of local current and upcoming legislation and current best EHS practices
• Experience in a distribution environment a plus
• Project management knowledge and experience working within matrixed environments and knowledge of OPEX principles and tools

Core essential skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or other relevant discipline required
2. Distribution center or warehouse experience is especially important.
3. This is a technical EHS role, not primarily a people-management position.

The Opportunity

Client is searching for a Manager of EHS to join our team at the North Wales and New Britain, PA sites. Office location for this position is in North Wales, PA. In this role, you will champion a sustainable EHS culture ensuring employee Safety Health, Environmental protection, and enabling compliant operations and business effectiveness.

Supports two nearby distribution centers in North Wales and New Britain, Pennsylvania. The North Wales facility is the more active location, with: Forklifts Conveyors and sorters Moving equipment Pallet and material-handling activity

Carriers and trucks entering and exiting the facility New Britain is a quieter, more traditional distribution center with racking and pallet movement. Safety is the number-one priority, followed by compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to site managers and employees, conduct internal, and support external, audits to ensure compliance with all applicable EHS requirements and design/recommend corrective and preventative action plans
• Develop and conduct EHS awareness and safety programs for the sites Identify EHS risks and define/recommend proactive mitigations
• Ensure that site investment and changes in processes, equipment and systems are carried out in accordance with all relevant EHS and GMP requirements
• Create, implement, monitor and update the site EHS plan in collaboration with the site leadership team
• Provide necessary information and data to site managers and supervisors, Global EHS and other internal and external stakeholders, to support the achievement of EHS objectives and enhance companys reputation
• Provide site leadership with analyses of incidents and investigation reports to identify significant or notable trends and opportunities for improvement
• Support site leadership to create and maintain an EHS culture throughout the sites that inspires a proactive attitude towards employee safety
• Help site leadership create an environment where people can speak openly and are encouraged to present new ideas about EHS stewardship
• Develop and implement training programs, provide coaching, expertise and guidance to managers and employees at the sites
• Lead continuous improvement in EHS using Operational Excellence (OPEX) principles and visible leadership to achieve goals and to enable compliant operations and business effectiveness
• Support the site leadership team, impacting decision making and taking an active role in promoting cross-site initiatives, teamwork and collaboration across site functions
• Bring global best practices into the site and actively share site perspective, knowledge and lessons learned to contribute and support a best-in class professional level of EHS globally
• Develop trusted and proactive relationships with regulatory agencies, local community and external suppliers to promote compliance and social responsibility, in companys business interest
