Job Summary: PROVIDED BY HR MANAGER Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree of Registered Nursing from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Trauma Certified RN License: Must have current state licensure as a Registered Nurse in the United States. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of concurrent nursing experience with 3 years in either critical care or trauma nursing, emergency nursing, or inpatient perioperative nursing. Trauma PI Coordinator must have the above nursing experience plus one year minimum of Performance Improvement or Patient Safety experience or proof of comparable education/training. U.S. Citizenship is required Key Responsibilities: Support Trauma & Acute Care Surgery (TACS) Program Management: Assist the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director with development, maintenance, coordination, and continuous improvement of a comprehensive trauma program across multidisciplinary teams and the continuum of care. Conduct Trauma Performance & Quality Reviews: Perform concurrent and retrospective chart audits, case reviews, core measure reviews, and focused audits to identify complications, performance improvement opportunities, variances, and compliance with clinical practice guidelines and trauma verification requirements. Manage and Analyze Trauma Data: Abstract and maintain trauma registry data in accordance with required definitions and guidelines; conduct trend and gap analyses; develop standardized and ad hoc reports, presentations, and information briefs; and support data integrity and inter-rater reliability. Drive Performance Improvement & Patient Safety: Support peer review and multidisciplinary quality initiatives; develop and monitor corrective action plans using methodologies such as PDSA, Root Cause Analysis, Fishbone, process mapping, Lean Six Sigma, and Failure Mode Effect Analysis; and evaluate the effectiveness of process improvements. Coordinate Collaboration, Education & Research: Facilitate trauma and quality meetings, rounds, and case reviews; document minutes and action items; provide staff education and training; collaborate with the Joint Trauma System and military/civilian treatment facilities; and support trauma research, education, injury prevention, and program initiatives. *Additional requirements will be provided at the time of interivew. Work Environment & Schedule: On site at WRNMMC, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Physical requirements: Requires the ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based chart review, data analysis, documentation, and meetings, with frequent standing and walking throughout the hospital. May occasionally require bending, reaching, and navigating patient-care areas; heavy lifting and direct patient handling are generally not routine responsibilities.
