Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) upholds the delivery of quality patient care by adhering to the nursing care plan. This role includes the supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, maintaining a commitment to the organization's core values and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to inform an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patient/family and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide timely patient information for initial and weekly evaluation team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, prioritizing education based on identified health care needs.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to support continuity of care.
• Supervise and provide guidance to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety according to policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to the unit by supporting staff, patients, and families, enhancing teamwork.
• Maintain communication with management about service and equipment needs.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
• PCU or stepdown experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position requires 36 hours of work per week on a day shift schedule, specifically 3x12 hours.
