Chief Accounting Officer

York is seeking a high-performing Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to join the Finance team. This role represents a unique opportunity to take a leadership position at a newly public, rapidly expanding aerospace. The CAO will serve as a key leader in establishing and maturing York's public-company financial infrastructure, building scalable processes, and partnering across the organization to support operational excellence and sustained growth. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will play a central role in developing a world-class finance team and strengthening enterprise-wide financial discipline. This role will be onsite in our office in Greenwood Village, CO. Responsibilities: Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in full compliance with US GAAP. Ensure adherence to all regulatory reporting requirements, public company standards, and internal financial policies. Provide strategic leadership for all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, inventory accounting, and tax. Establish, enhance, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices and evolving regulatory expectations. Support executive leadership in budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning efforts. Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, regulatory bodies, and other third-party partners. Provide authoritative guidance on complex accounting matters, technical transactions, and emerging regulations (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842). Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounting organization to strengthen capabilities, build leadership bench strength, and support career development. Partner closely with operations, legal, compliance, and program leadership to ensure financial considerations inform strategic and operational decision-making. Oversee financial system improvements, ERP enhancements, and process modernization, including implementation of best-in-class accounting practices within Oracle Fusion. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification. 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience. 7+ years in leadership roles managing and developing accounting teams. Experience working in a publicly traded company. Strong expertise in US GAAP, SEC reporting, and tax regulations. Proficiency with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems. Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and drive organizational improvement. Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational leadership skills. High integrity, accountability, and a strong results orientation. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Prior experience as a CAO or equivalent senior accounting executive in a public company. Manufacturing industry accounting experience.
