Central Services Manager

Central Services Manager Sunbelt Rentals seeks an experienced Central Services Manager to oversee the operating of the service call center, dispatch operations, and equipment maintenance programs. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor service operational procedures, policies, and training programs. Manage preventive maintenance, repair, and safety bulletin processes for service trucks and equipment. Maintain customer service levels in accordance with district standards. Recruit, hire, train, develop, and supervise service technicians. Collaborate with property‑center locations to achieve financial objectives, including profit and loss targets. Design and deliver service call center training. Monitor call quality and handle escalated service issues. Coach leadership and staff to develop game plans, set measurable objectives, and adjust staffing to meet service demands. Direct technicians in equipment performance and high‑level training for shop foremen and service managers. Participate in performance audits to identify and address service weaknesses. Oversee human‑resource administration (payroll, scheduling, paperwork). Lead all aspects of incoming service and preventive maintenance operations. Develop and track service quotas, volume, and efficiency metrics. Manage parts inventory and support product safety bulletin programs. Identify manufacturers failing to meet quality standards and resolve disputes with vendors. Maintain communication programs to record product issues across the organization. Use service call center reports to set goals, develop strategies, and influence business decisions. Build strategic customer relationships and drive value‑added service activities. Ensure effective communication between service departments and operational management. Support customers in determining rental needs using product knowledge. Analyze call center flow to increase productivity and customer satisfaction. Implement proper procedures for handling customer damage claims and manage after‑hour service calls. Qualifications Minimum 3 years in the rental equipment or construction industry. At least 1 year of equipment shop operations management experience. Extensive knowledge of construction equipment (aerial, earth‑moving, small tools, etc.). Strong analytical skills to interpret technical information and develop solutions. Exceptional organizational and decision‑making abilities. Understanding of rental fleet application, performance capabilities, and mechanical concepts. Physical ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50+ pounds, and work indoors/outdoors as required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with applicable laws.
