Cashier / ReceptionistNewton Nissan of Gallatin is looking for an experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier / Receptionist to join our team. This is a fast-paced position that requires strong cash-handling skills, excellent phone and customer service skills, schedule flexibility, and the ability to work well as part of a team.We are looking for someone who brings a positive attitude to work each day, takes pride in providing excellent customer service, and is willing to assist wherever needed.Job Responsibilities and DutiesPromptly answer incoming calls using a multi-line phone systemProfessionally determine the reason for each call and transfer callers to the correct department or individualTake accurate and detailed messages when needed and communicate them promptlyPage dealership employees for customers and incoming callsProvide callers with basic dealership information while maintaining a friendly and professional phone presenceGreet customers and determine the nature of their visitProvide a friendly, professional, and welcoming experience for every guestCollect cash, checks, and credit card payments for repair orders and counter ticketsAccurately process and document all customer paymentsBalance cash at the beginning and end of assigned shiftsReconcile payment discrepancies and maintain accurate transaction recordsEnsure checks are accepted in accordance with company policyVerify repair order and counter ticket totals against cash, check, and credit card paymentsComplete assigned opening and closing responsibilitiesAssist with filing, scanning, and organizing repair orders and dealership paperworkPrepare and maintain coffee, customer snacks, and suppliesMonitor and maintain the cleanliness of customer lounges and waiting areasMaintain a clean and organized workspaceProvide coverage for both cashier and reception responsibilitiesWork cooperatively and respectfully with teammates and other dealership departmentsAssist with additional administrative and customer service duties as neededSchedule & AvailabilityApproximately 35–40 hours per weekRotating shifts are requiredCashier department hours: 6:45 AM–6:00 PMReception department hours: 8:00 AM–7:00 PMMust be available to work opening, mid, and closing shifts based on department coverageRotating Saturday availability is requiredSchedule flexibility is an important requirement of this positionQualifications and RequirementsPrevious cash-handling experience is requiredMust be comfortable and accurate handling money and balancing a cash drawerMust be comfortable answering a high volume of incoming callsStrong phone etiquette and ability to professionally communicate with customersReceptionist, switchboard, administrative, or similar customer-facing experience preferredExcellent communication and organizational skillsFriendly, professional, and customer-focused personalityMust maintain a positive attitude and work well with teammatesMust be dependable, punctual, and reliableAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentAbility to multitask and adjust priorities throughout the workdayExperience using Microsoft OfficeAbility and willingness to learn dealership systems and proceduresMust be able to lift up to 30 poundsMust be able to climb stairs and move throughout the dealership during the workdayMust be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screenWhat We’re Looking ForThe ideal candidate is reliable, experienced, trustworthy, positive, and team-oriented.
