Job Description & Requirements TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/22/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel We are looking for Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit RNs with 1-2 years of recent acute care experience. The right RN should be able to work in a fast‑paced, urgent critical care environment and provide care following specialized procedures such as open‑heart surgery and heart transplants. Responsibilities Provide critical care to patients with potentially life‑threatening heart conditions. Prepare and administer prescribed medications. Take samples for diagnostic tests; order, interpret and evaluate these tests. Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy and IV protocols. Respond to emergencies by performing CPR and operating defibrillators hospital‑wide. Educate patients and family members on how to manage recovery at home. Qualifications ACLS, BLS, NIH certification. 2‑year acute care experience. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lean, and stoop for long periods. Physical ability to lift 20 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Excellent stress‑management skills and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds. Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
