Clinical Student Intern - Temporary Unpaid

Overview Job Location: Hamilton, OH 45011 Position Type: Internship Education Level: 4 Year Degree Community Health Alliance offers clinical internships for students enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Social Work or Counseling. The internship provides hands‑on experience in a community‑based healthcare environment under the supervision of licensed professionals. It is designed to meet accredited academic clinical hour requirements and fulfills State of Ohio licensure trainee status. Benefits Hands‑on experience in a behavioral health setting Development and application of clinical skills such as assessments, intervention, case management, and documentation under licensed supervision Exposure to multidisciplinary teams and integrated care models Supervision from licensed clinical social workers or counselors Accrual of required clinical hours toward Social Work Trainee (SWT) or Counselor Trainee (CT) licensure and future professional licensure (LSW, LPC, LISW, LPCC) Reflective supervision sessions for personal and professional growth Networking opportunities with supervisors, peers, administrators, and community partners Confidence, professionalism, and ethical mindset development Priority consideration for future paid positions within the organization Opportunities for paid part‑time or full‑time employment while in school or after graduation and/or licensure Internship Responsibilities Conduct intake assessments, biopsychosocial evaluations, and assist in developing treatment plans Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling sessions under supervision Participate in case conferences, treatment planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with organizational and legal standards Provide support services to clients navigating community resources and referrals Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance at all times Engage in ongoing supervision and training sessions Qualifications Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Social Work (BSW/MSW) or Counseling (MA) In good academic standing and approved to begin a clinical placement Must obtain and maintain a valid Social Work Trainee (SWT) or Counselor Trainee (CT) license issued by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board prior to starting the internship Demonstrated interest in behavioral health, community health, or integrated care settings Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Ability to maintain professionalism and ethical boundaries in client interactions Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, including Office Suite, Outlook and Teams Adept at learning and navigating electronic health record systems Equal Opportunity Statement Community Health Alliance is a drug testing Equal Opportunity Employer.
