What You’ll Do

Must have the ability to exercise independent judgment in crisis situations.

Your responsibilities may includes:

• Participating in and successfully completing pre-service and in-service training. 

  · Conduct thorough interviews with potential staff to assess competency. 

  · Follow and demonstrate understanding of medication policy and procedures in the monitoring of person supported medication. 

  · Audits medication administration and accurately completes/reviews all documentation pertaining to medication, i.e.: medication administration sheet/record, medication count forms, syringe sign out, count sheet as appropriate, etc. 

  · Demonstrates knowledge of developmental disabilities, learning characteristics, mental illness throughout assessment and treatment process. 

  · Assist staff with the implemenation of person-centered support plans.   

  · Engages in behavior that provides appropriate role models to learners according to community norms. 

  · Able to identify psychiatric stages of de-compensation risk potential and communicate any changes to supervisor, clinical team and other team members.

  · Provides in-service training and ongoing supervision to educate staff about crisis theory, prevention and intervention as needed. Assist staff members in identifying alternatives to prevent crisis.

  · Monitors all programs for compliance with utilization, billing and other contractual targets and ensures that these are met. Develops corrective action plans to address any deficiencies that may occur.

  · Works cooperatively and respectfully while demonstrating the ability to compromise with co-workers. 

  · Provides sound recommendations to staff and other team members regarding interventions. 

  · Effectively communicates administrative information to team members. 

  · Facilitates and/or participates in general staff meetings, clinical, management meetings and assigned committees or special project/task forces. 

  · Understands role in interdisciplinary team by assisting with the person-centered support plan and maintaining open communication with the circle of support. 

  · Regularly seeks timely and appropriate assistance from supervisors, peers and other resources. 

  · Provides guidance, assistance, and immediate feedback to staff regarding work performance by being physically present on-site regularly and for unscheduled visits. 

  · Identifies needs and provides staff training and mentoring, either in-house training or coordinates with the Regional Director for outside services. Routinely presents at Pre-service and other training.

  · Monitors delivery of direct care services and personal care activities. 

  · Develops performance plans to increase employee productivity. 

  · Monitors staff to ensure follow-through of issues identified during supervision and team meetings. 

  · Actively promotes team building to ensure positive staff morale and provision of quality services. 

  · Actively completes performance appraisals according to policy. 

  · Actively participates in bi-weekly supervision with the Regional Director.

  · Ensures that all aspects of residential operations meet criteria for licensing. Responsible for overall operations of programs assigned i.e.: personnel, property, and administrative needs.

  · Ensure proper supervision of person supported and provide direct care in times of crisis.

  · Ensure timely completion of documentation i.e.: monthly reports, daily notes, PCSP’s, incident reports, etc.
