This role is for a design leader who will serve as the principal authority on our design system and platform-level experiences, driving quality, consistency, and velocity across all FloQast products. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time What You'll Do: As a Staff Product Designer - Platform/Design Systems, you will be a principal force in defining the future trajectory of the FloQast platform and our Flow UI Design System, focusing on high-leverage problems and cross-organizational influence. Define Platform-Wide Experiences: Act as the domain expert and owner for critical, system-wide experiences, such as in-app notifications, global navigation, and page architectures, ensuring a unified and consistent user journey across all product lines. Design for Transformative AI: Translate complex AI capabilities and enterprise requirements into intuitive, high-trust, and scalable experiences across the platform. Lead Design System Strategy and Transformation: Own the strategic vision, roadmap, and execution for the Flow UI Design System. Drive the transformation, updates, and rollout of the system, ensuring it is scalable, technically sound, and fully aligned with business needs and product architecture. Influence Engineering Architecture: Partner directly with Front-End Engineering Leads and Leadership to ensure Flo UI is technically sound, maintainable, and reflects best practices. You will serve as a broad influencer on the direction of the overall product architecture as it relates to UI/UX implementation. Drive Design Enablement and Velocity: Establish processes and governance to maximize the impact and adoption of the design system across all product and engineering teams, accelerating design and development velocity for the entire organization. Architect Product Vision and Roadmap: Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering Leadership to define the product roadmap for Flow UI and design debt, proactively identifying and scoping opportunities for platform-level standardization and improvement. Mentor and Coach: Act as a senior design leader, providing mentorship and coaching to designers across the organization in system thinking, design systems best practices, quality execution, and cross-functional leadership. Elevate Quality at Scale: Set and enforce the highest bar for design quality, consistency, and accessibility across the entire platform through system documentation and rigorous component review while still allowing for speed and innovation. The quality bar should be set by user needs, not just UI best best practices. What You'll Bring: To excel in this Staff-level role, you should possess a rare combination of design mastery, technical fluency, and organizational leadership. You possess a deep professional history in enterprise product design. This includes 7+ years of professional experience designing and successfully shipping high-quality, complex SaaS or enterprise products at scale, with a significant track record of organizational impact. You demonstrate expert mastery over the entire Design Systems lifecycle. You have proven, expert-level experience in leading, building, scaling, and governing a large-scale, enterprise-grade Design System, including defining component architecture, governance models, and comprehensive documentation standards. You possess the technical fluency required to influence code and front-end architecture. This includes a strong understanding of front-end development technologies (e.g., React, HTML/CSS) sufficient to influence technical implementation decisions and build strong, collaborative partnerships with engineering leaders. You are an expert in managing the integrity of design decisions across code. Your expertise includes ensuring design decisions are implemented consistently in code through Design Token Management tools like Figma Tokens or Style Dictionary, enabling distribution across various formats (CSS, JSON). You are fluent in modern developer workflows and component distribution. You have familiarity with developer processes including Version Control (Git/GitHub), managing component distribution via Package Management, and the structure of Front-End Frameworks to inform design decisions regarding component complexity. You prioritize system quality assurance and comprehensive documentation. This includes experience with component documentation platforms like Storybook and understanding of quality assurance tools used to prevent regressions. You maintain a world-class portfolio that demonstrates exceptional systems thinking. Your portfolio showcases exceptional visual design, interaction design, and strategic thinking, specifically demonstrating work on large-scale platform interfaces and large, complex data sets. You know how to balance the needs of long-term strategic work, but can also pivot to support rapid tactical iterations. You are a proven leader in founding and launching new product foundations. You have proven experience successfully leading and shipping product initiatives from 0-1, including defining foundational, system-wide user experiences. You demonstrate advanced proficiency with specialized design systems tools. This includes mastery of core design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma), and demonstrated advanced proficiency in leveraging AI-powered tools to accelerate knowledge, quality, and delivery. You have exceptional strategic collaboration and organizational influencing skills. You have a proven ability to clearly articulate and defend design and system rationale to executive leadership across Product, Design, and Engineering. You lead and inform system priorities through rigorous research and data. You utilize both qualitative user research and quantitative data to inform and validate system priorities, rollout strategy, and adoption success. The base pay range for this position is $164,000-$246,000 Compensation is not limited to base salary.
