Transit Market Manager Hybrid with High Earnings Potential

Description Our Lamar office in Chico, California is now hiring a Transit Market Manager to bring innovative outdoor advertising campaigns to life for brands in the local area. The purpose of this position is to manage the performance and sales function in a single market or geographic area, achieving sales goals, handling administrative, operational, and expense management, and thinking creatively to create wins for clients and the company. First‑year potential total compensation of $61,640 – $110,000 dependent on experience and selling ability. What we’re looking for in YOU: Excellent communication skills. Good knowledge of local and national media trends. Ability to work independently and follow through with minimal direction. Proven track record—ranked in the top 25% at previous company. Strong interpersonal skills for one‑to‑one conversations, explaining policies, and persuading others. Positive relationship management with transit districts. Conflict resolution under general direction. Clear, distinct spoken English. Analytical skills to define problems, identify patterns, and formulate logical conclusions. Leadership ability both internally and externally. Initiative on projects and assignments. Budget management. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Word. A day in the life: Maintain and grow a personal account list in assigned market or territory. Manage sales activities, inventory, and client relationships in the designated territory. Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales projections. Communicate with operations manager, administrative staff, and general sales manager consistently. Maintain a positive relationship with pertinent transit districts. Think outside the box to create wins for clients and the company. Physical Demands and Work Environment Primary environment: office or vehicle. Physical demands include light lifting, pushing, reaching, seeing (reading, color distinction, acuity, depth perception, peripheral vision), sitting >50%, standing, stooping, talking, turning, walking, climbing. Night travel less than 10% of time. Education and Experience Requirements Required High school diploma. Minimum of 3 years of successful sales and sales management experience in the advertising industry. Proven B2B sales experience. Winning track record of selling to local and direct clients. Valid driver’s license. Preferred A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field. 1–2 years of experience in marketing, customer relations, and/or project management.
