Shift: 4 Days, 10 Hours per Day (06:00 - 17:00)

Job Description

The Catheterization Laboratory Technologist I plays a crucial role in supporting cardiac catheterization procedures. This position involves preparing the lab and operating essential equipment, including fluoroimaging and digital image acquisition. The technologist ensures accurate documentation of patient information and hemodynamic measurements, while consistently maintaining stringent aseptic techniques and patient safety standards. This role actively collaborates with the medical team to optimize patient care and enhance departmental efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Meet expectations of applicable One CHRISTUS Competencies.
• Ensure major equipment is operational and document as required for quality control.
• Participate in daily room checks and restock supplies as necessary.
• Access daily patient schedules and appropriate information for assigned procedures.
• Ensure appropriate equipment, supplies, and room configuration for all procedures.
• Collaborate with the procedure team and Cath Lab Lead/Coordinator for patient care.
• Document procedure details and record hemodynamic measurements accurately.
• Secure patients appropriately on the procedure table per procedure type.
• Train and operate catheterization lab equipment including imaging systems and hemodynamic systems.
• Adhere to aseptic techniques and organizational policies related to patient safety and infection control.
• Act as a radiation safety representative during X-ray usage.
• Support patient transport as needed and engage in team knowledge sharing.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or an equivalent.
• 0-1 year of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required for pediatric facilities.
• Preferred certifications include: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), among others.
• State licensure required based on modality.
