The team strengthens customer risk rating, reporting, and data governance capabilities helping reduce risk, improving operational efficiency, and supporting the future state of AML across the bank.What You’ll Be DoingReporting to the Senior Director, US AML TDI, you will lead the delivery of accurate, timely, and well-governed AML reporting and risk assessment data. You will partner with AML Advisory, FIU, Technology, and other TDI teams to strengthen data quality and reporting controls and deliver intuitive dashboards and executive-ready insights that support decision-making, regulatory expectations, and audit readiness.Own the end-to-end AML reporting and Risk Assessment data lifecycle, including requirements intake, data sourcing and definitions, calculation logic, QA/QC, reconciliations, refresh management, distribution, and retention, using SAS Viya and related SAS tools to support management, board, and regulatory deliverables.Drive strong data governance and documentation practices for AML reporting data, including definitions, data dictionaries, lineage, controls, evidence, and project documentation aligned with enterprise guidance and internal policies. Develop materials that clearly explain methodologies, controls, and findings to technical and non-technical audiences.Lead the design and delivery of dashboards, scorecards, and ad-hoc visual analytics primarily in SAS Viya (including Visualize and Explore), using a design-centric approach that drives clear, compelling storytelling and decision-ready insights.Establish and continuously improve data quality monitoring (completeness, validity, timeliness, reconciliation, reasonableness/trending), including escalation, root-cause coordination, and remediation tracking.Lead the development and ongoing management of backend reporting pipelines and analytical data models as governed products, including requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, test plans, lifecycle documentation, change tracking, and production updates, in partnership with Technology and vendors as needed.Ensure reporting methodologies, controls, and products remain consistent, repeatable, and reliable through reconciliations, approvals, release management, version control, production monitoring, and issue remediation, with outputs defensible during audits, regulatory exams, model risk reviews, and governance reviews.Lead and develop analysts and matrixed resources by setting priorities, coaching technical skills, and ensuring high-quality execution, while translating complex data into clear narratives and executive-ready materials for senior stakeholders.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.You’ll succeed by combining deep AML reporting knowledge, disciplined data governance, strong technical execution, and the judgment to bring structure to ambiguous requests.Who You Are7+ years of progressive experience in BSA/AML reporting, analytics, data governance, or related financial crimes functions, including at least 5 years leading complex AML reporting deliverables for management, board, regulatory, audit, and risk assessment purposes.5+ years of people leadership experience, including direct/indirect management of analysts or analytics professionals, setting priorities, coaching, managing performance, and delivering through competing timelines.5+ years of experience owning the end-to-end reporting and metrics lifecycle and working directly with AML data and operations across several relevant domains, including requirements intake, data sourcing, calculation logic, QA/QC, controls, approvals, distribution, transaction monitoring, customer risk rating, sanctions and screening, investigations, case management, SARs, alerts, or regulatory reporting.5+ years of hands-on experience using advanced SQL to prepare, transform, analyze, and validate reporting datasets, including at least 3 years using SAS Viya AML or SAS AML to deliver AML reporting, dashboards, or interactive analytics through tools such as SAS EG/Studio/Visualize and Explore/CAS.Practical knowledge of AML data governance, including data dictionaries, KPI definitions, lineage, controls, data quality monitoring, and retention, with strong stakeholder management and the ability to explain complex logic and results to technical and non-technical audiences.Experience delivering reporting pipelines across multiple environments using SDLC and Agile practices, including requirements, testing, UAT, change management, release coordination, and deployment instructions, with demonstrated judgment in resolving ambiguity, evaluating tradeoffs, influencing stakeholders, and implementing practical, sustainable solutions.Experience supporting enterprise or business-line AML Risk Assessments, regulatory examinations, audits, and issue management, including data compilation, methodology support, evidence management, control demonstrations, response drafting, and senior stakeholder readouts.Education & CertificationsMaster’s degree in information science, Business Analytics, Data Visualization, Computer Science, or related field (required). A degree in a creative field (e.g., design) combined with a strong technical portfolio will also be considered.Preferred: CAMS (ACAMS) or equivalent AML certification.Preferred: certifications in data/analytics or BI (e.g., SAS, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SQL Server, or similar). #LI-TACalifornia residents — your privacy rights regarding your actual or prospective employmentAt CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $130,000 - $160,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
