About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Rochester, New York, 14626!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required License: New York license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Familiarity with rapid response teams Proficiency in non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions Description: Registered Nurses are needed for a Medical/Surgical/Tele unit. RNs are required to have competency in phlebotomy and placing IVs. The RN-to-patient ratios during the day and evening shifts are 5 to 1, with a stretch of 6-7. On night shifts, ratios typically range from 6-7 to 1, and may stretch to 8-10 if there are staff call-offs. Patient care assistants are available on all units for tasks such as vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and assistance with daily activities. RNs must be comfortable with the interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of dysrhythmias, including the use of rapid response teams. Experience with patient diagnoses such as acute respiratory failure, congestive heart failure, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, and sepsis is required. Special equipment experience is necessary, including BIPAP, CPAP, high flow oxygen, ventilators, trach care, and chest tubes. Familiarity with computerized documentation is preferred, and experience with Epic is highly desired. All travelers are required to float within their scope to meet facility needs. Floating between like units is expected, but not outside of the nurse’s scope of practice. Candidates must be willing to adhere to all unit-specific duties and responsibilities.
