Position Overview

Vero Orthopaedics is seeking a skilled, motivated, and patient-focused Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing team.

We currently have opportunities available within multiple areas of our practice and are looking for candidates who are interested in building a long-term career with Vero Orthopaedics. The specific physician and clinical assignment may be determined based on the candidate's experience, clinical interests, and the needs of the practice.

Our Physician Assistants work closely with physicians and other members of the clinical team to provide comprehensive care throughout the patient's course of treatment. Depending on the position, responsibilities may include independent clinic visits, new and established patient evaluations, pre- and postoperative care, hospital or rehabilitation rounding, in-office procedures, surgical assistance, and coordination of ongoing treatment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, a positive and collaborative attitude, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to providing outstanding patient care. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat new and established patients in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform appropriate physical examinations.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic testing, imaging studies, and laboratory results.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, medications, recovery expectations, and follow-up care.
• Perform preoperative and postoperative evaluations as appropriate.
• Provide postoperative patient management, including wound evaluations, medication management, and coordination of follow-up care.
• Perform or assist with in-office procedures based on training, competency, physician assignment, and applicable scope-of-practice requirements.
• Assist physicians with surgical procedures when applicable to the assigned position.
• Round on patients at hospitals or rehabilitation facilities when required by the assigned position.
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapy providers, imaging staff, nursing staff, surgery scheduling, and other members of the patient's care team.
• Respond appropriately to patient questions and clinical concerns.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation within the electronic health record.
• Participate in call coverage when applicable to the assigned position.
• Maintain knowledge of current clinical standards and evidence-based practices.
• Participate in quality improvement and practice initiatives.
• Maintain a professional, compassionate, and respectful approach in all interactions with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.
• Perform other clinical responsibilities as appropriate based on physician assignment and practice needs.

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current Florida Physician Assistant license or ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain, if required for the position.

Preferred

• Previous orthopaedic, surgical, musculoskeletal, emergency medicine, sports medicine, spine, or other relevant specialty experience.
• Experience with preoperative and postoperative patient management.
• Experience performing or assisting with clinical procedures.
• Surgical first-assist experience, when applicable.

New graduates with strong clinical rotations, demonstrated initiative, and an interest in orthopaedic care may also be considered.

Schedule

Full-Time

Monday – Friday

Specific hours and responsibilities may vary based on physician assignment, clinic schedule, surgical schedule, rounding responsibilities, and call requirements.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable background screening, credentialing, and drug screening requirements.
