Position Overview

IDOC is looking to hire an Office Associate to serve as the unit secretary in the Health Care Unit. In addition, this position will compile timekeeping records, keyboard a variety of complex documents, serve as receptionist and update administrative files for the unit. If you are detail oriented and can multi-task, this position is for you. We strongly encourage all qualified individuals to apply.

Essential Functions

• Serves as the unit secretary in the Health Care Unit.
• Compiles timekeeping records for all Health Care Unit employees and individuals in custody workers on a daily basis.
• Keyboards complex charts, statistical reports, documents, forms, memoranda, and letters.
• Serves as a receptionist.
• Updates administrative files for unit.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
• Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 45 words per minute.

Conditions of Employment

• Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
• Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
• Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
