Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Cardiac Surgery Specialty position located in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves scrubbing cardiac cases requiring bypass, mediastinal procedures, thoracic surgeries (including daVinci assisted techniques), open thoracotomy, video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), initiation of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and pericardial window procedures. The position includes the ability to take call and requires proficiency in complex cardiac surgical procedures.

Job Details

• Location: Richmond, Virginia
• Schedule: Days shift with hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; minimum of 40 hours per week
• Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Qualifications: No minimum years of experience specified; open to candidates with 0 or more years of relevant experience in operating room cardiac procedures
• Specialty: Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH)
• Requested Skill Set: Proficiency in scrubbing cardiac cases requiring bypass, mediastinal surgery, thoracic surgery (including daVinci assisted), open thoracotomy, VATS, ECMO procedures, and pericardial windows; ability to take call; experience with a variety of cardiac cases such as CABG, valve replacement, aortic dissection repair, TAVR procedures, thoracic surgeries, and ECMO implementation
• Unit Specifics:
  • 7101 Jahnke Road, Richmond, VA 23225
  • General unit with staffing including secretaries and technicians
  • Equipment and documentation systems aligned with cardiac surgery procedures
  • Floating policy in place, with potential for float rotation when assigned
  • Unit policies and guidelines to be attached as part of the application process
