Job Summary:
The healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary assignment located in Maryland. The position involves providing specialized care to adult cardiac surgery and vascular patients in a high-acuity unit. The role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to post-operative cardiac and vascular patient management.

Job Details:

• Position: Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (CVICU) RN
• Location: Maryland
• Schedule: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts, from 07:30 to 20:00
• Start Date: 08/24/2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Required Qualifications: MD RN license or Compact RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications, 2+ years of CVICU or open heart experience, valid Maryland or compact license at time of submission, CPI certification, and experience managing arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilators, central lines, and cardiovascular protocols.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with Epic charting system, previous charge experience, community hospital experience, and at least 2 years of patient ratio experience in a cardiothoracic ICU setting.
• Additional Information: The RN must be comfortable floating within the scope of the unit and sister units as needed. The unit handles complex post-operative cardiac patients, including those requiring Impella, IABP, and ECMO support. The role involves immediate post-op care, high-acuity patient management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
