Production Cook

The Production Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals to meet Kommissary's high-quality standards in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. This role requires strong technical skills, teamwork, and the ability to maintain consistency under pressure. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional food.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare and cook food using advanced techniques such as grilling, roasting, and pan-frying.
• Execute precise knife skills for consistent food preparation.
• Ensure food preparation and storage meet NY Department of Health safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to health and safety protocols.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely and high-quality meal production.
• Maintain focus and attention to detail, even under pressure.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support smooth operations.
• Stay positive, calm, and solutions-oriented during high-pressure situations.
• Work overtime when required to meet production deadlines.

Qualifications include:

• Proven experience as a cook in a high-volume kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
• Excellent knife skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and independently when needed.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain composure under pressure.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Physical requirements include:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work standing or walking for extended periods.
• Perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and moving at a fast pace.
