Maintenance SupervisorGuides the day-to-day activities of a maintenance team responsible for the electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic servicing and maintenance of production machinery, equipment, facilities, utilities, and grounds. Ensures compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards while promoting reliable equipment performance and operational efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervises the day-to-day activities of a team of maintenance technicians by providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful completion of work.Participates in HR activities including hiring, performance management, scheduling, team member development, corrective actions, and goal setting.Enforces company policies, procedures, and safety standards.Directs the maintenance and repair of production equipment, mobile equipment, buildings, utilities, and grounds in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.Develops, schedules, and manages a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in optimal operating condition.Plans and prioritizes maintenance work to ensure company property is maintained in a safe and efficient manner while minimizing production downtime.Inspects maintenance work in progress and upon completion to ensure quality workmanship, regulatory compliance, and adherence to safety standards.Ensures proper maintenance and repair of facility equipment, machinery, and building systems.Partners with Operations and Sanitation to ensure equipment is properly maintained, production-ready, and available to meet operational needs.Plans daily work activities to support the Safety Accountability Process and Maintenance Accountability Program while ensuring appropriate staffing and resource allocation.Identifies, recommends, and implements equipment improvements, process enhancements, and capital needs to improve production efficiency, equipment reliability, and reduce costs.Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.Four (4) or more years of relevant maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.One (1) or more years of leadership or supervisory experience, or demonstrated leadership capabilities sufficient to perform the responsibilities of the role.Butterball Core CompetenciesCaring about people, valuing contributions, and empowering others to succeed is the Butterball Way. We are accountable for our commitments, our people, our quality, our customers, our business, our brand, and our communities.Enthusiastic Attitudes: We foster a workplace where everyone feels included, engaged, and motivated to do their best while working together to achieve shared success.Continuous Improvement: We are committed to learning, developing, improving, and innovating in everything we do.Essential Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesWorking knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems.Understanding of industrial machinery, manufacturing equipment, and production processes.Good leadership skills with the ability to coach, support, and motivate a team.Ability to apply mathematical and mechanical principles when troubleshooting equipment and maintenance issues.Effective technology skills, including CMMS and Microsoft Office applications.Skilled in root cause analysis, accident investigations, and troubleshooting.Ability to research, evaluate, and interpret maintenance and operational data.Effective communication, organization, time-management, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.Skilled at resource management, delegation, workload planning, and prioritizing deliverables.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExperience in poultry, meat, or food manufacturing.Experience supporting or leading fabrication, welding, and equipment modification projects in a manufacturing environment.Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Poultry Science, Animal Science, Food Science, or a related field.Experience with preventive maintenance systems, CMMS software, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.Physical DemandsRegularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate equipment, computers, telephones, and keyboards.Occasionally required to climb and lift up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.Working Conditions & Travel RequirementsWork is performed in both climate-controlled office environments and manufacturing environments with varying conditions, including cold, wet, warm, chemical, and other industrial settings.Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required while working in the manufacturing environment.The manufacturing environment may exceed 85 dBA and require hearing protection.Occasional travel may be required.DisclaimerThe statements contained herein describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications required.
