Shift Type: Variable start times and days, 9:00 AM - 9:30 PM, 36 hours guaranteed, weekends and on-call required

Hours per Week: 60

Candidate Pay Rate: $57.40 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor vital signs, heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, temperature, and level of consciousness as patients recover from anesthesia
• Ensure a patent airway and adequate respiratory function, stepping in quickly if an obstruction or respiratory distress occurs
• Administer medications such as painkillers, anti-nausea drugs, and fluids to manage post-operative symptoms and keep patients comfortable
• Assess surgical sites for bleeding or complications, check dressings, and perform physical assessments
• Recognize adverse reactions to anesthesia or surgery and initiate appropriate emergency interventions
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records while communicating effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members

Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience
• Comfort working variable shifts, weekends, and on-call rotations
• Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
