Position Overview Under the supervision of the Dean of Natural Health & Science and the Director of the Surgical Technology Program , the Adjunct Instructor is responsible for teaching and supervising Surgical Technology students in laboratory and clinical settings. Key Responsibilities Laboratory Instruction Deliver high-quality instruction to students in the Surgical Technology Lab. Prepare and clean lab facilities before and after each session. Demonstrate surgical skills and assess student return demonstrations. Evaluate student progress and provide feedback after lab practical exams. Participate in skills assessment reviews and maintain accurate student records. Engage in continuing professional development to maintain current expertise. Clinical Instruction Serve as a liaison between Quincy College and clinical affiliates. Track student attendance, evaluations, and issue clinical warnings when necessary. Coordinate with clinical sites to ensure students meet case and rotation requirements. Provide mentorship, feedback, and support to students in clinical settings. Maintain communication with the Clinical Director and attend required meetings. Uphold patient and student safety standards. FERPA

Bi-Annual Municipal Ethics Law Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred. Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required. Experience Minimum of three (3) years of recent operating room experience as a practicing Surgical Technologist or Instructor. Must maintain certification in CPR, current immunizations, and other health requirements. Membership in the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) required. Experience teaching or training in a diverse academic environment preferred. Additional Requirements Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Completion of Quincy College’s teaching certification program (Canvas, Quality Matters, Canvas Studio) or equivalent. Ability to perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
