Occupational Therapist

Overview We are looking for a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our growing team. The right candidate has a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide medical support to clients in their homes. Responsibilities Provide Occupational therapy services to patients according to a written physician's plan of care. This may include, but is not limited to: assessing and evaluating therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status, and participating in the development of the total plan of care. Evaluate home environment. Assess muscle strength, mobility, and range of motion (ROM) with rehab potential. Direct Occupational therapy treatment. Instruct patients and families/caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic appliances. Determine priority needs for Occupational therapy. Report to physician on patient reaction to treatment or changes in condition. Initiate the Occupational therapy program and instruct other personnel and/or family/caregivers in related phases and goals of the program; participate in case conferences. Train patients in the use of prosthetic devices when applicable. Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for other home health services and make referrals as necessary. Prepare and submit clinical and progress summaries based on attainment of goals. Participate in discharge planning for patients. Provide Occupational therapy consultation to home families/caregivers when indicated. Provide in-service education programs for nursing organization personnel as needed. Participate in the peer consultation process. Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants according to organization policy and state regulations. Qualifications Degree from an Occupational Therapy program approved by an accredited organization. Licensed to practice as an Occupational Therapist within the state. Two years of appropriate experience as an Occupational Therapist; community/home health experience. Good verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Current CPR certification.
