Senior Java Developer with AI and LLM

PLEASE NOTE:

• It is a 100% Onsite position.
  
• Selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
• Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn MD 5 days a week

KEY REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Senior Software Development background in enterprise software development experience such as an extensive experience designing developing and maintaining service-oriented applications and APIs including Java Spring Boot applications RESTful web services integrating and operationally supporting LLM and agentic AI components within enterprise applications.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• Design and develop software applications using Twelve-Factor App methodology from functional requirement
• Design and develop applications using Java REST API and spring boot.
• Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to develop an understanding of needs.
• Design and develop Microservices using Spring Boot Java and RESTful architecture.
• Develop Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) based Web Services using technologies such as JAX-WS Apache Axis and Web Services Description Language (WSDL).
• Good understanding of DevOps practices CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins Git Bitbucket and experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts QA and project managers and commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies.
• Develop unit test cases for every possible Java class with real scenarios using Junit Mockito and Power Mock frameworks
• Attend all customer technical discussions/design/development meetings and provide viable technical solutions to further enhance the existing architecture and improve code quality/process.
• Provide guidance/support to other junior/mid-level developers.
• All other duties as assigned or directed.
  

Requirements

SKILL REQUIRMENTS:

• Masters and 5 years of experience Bachelors and 7 years of experience or 13 years in lieu of a degree
• 10 years of experience with Java Spring Boot Gen AI LLMs
• Extensive Design and Programming skills in Java and JEE technologies.
• Experience working on Agile projects and strong knowledge of Agile terminology and tools including Agility.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience in designing high-throughput and low-latency systems using Java including architecting scalable solutions capable of handling large volumes of concurrent requests with minimal response times.
• Strong experience with Java Spring boot and REST API.
• Experience integrating and operationally supporting LLM and agentic AI components within enterprise applications including retrieval-augmented generation and vector search agent orchestration frameworks LLM evaluation and guardrail approaches and the deployment monitoring and automated retraining pipelines.
• Technical expertise should include PostgreSQL MongoDB SQL Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 Agile software development
• Git Bitbucket Jenkins CI/CD Eclipse code reviews multi-threaded application development and production support
• Experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications onto AWS with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with modern software development tools for Continuous Integration including Jenkins Git/BitBucket Jira Nexus Maven Jenkins SonarQube Fortify and UrbanCode Deploy.
• Hands-on Design and development experience on Microservices and RESTful API.
• Experience with Automated unit test (i.e. JUnit Mocking frameworks) Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-driven development (BDD) (Cucumber).
• Experience with JEE technologies including Struts Spring Framework (IoC MVC Transactions Security and Batch) Spring Boot Spring JDBC JPA Hibernate SOAP/RESTful XML DB2 Tomcat WebSphere.
• Experience with static code analyzers like SonarQube and addressing SonarQube recommended technical debts such as bugs vulnerabilities hotspots in the code.
• Knowledge of security vulnerabilities in web applications and addressing them.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the latest trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and showcase the ability to apply AI knowledge to enhance or redesign existing system architectures identifying opportunities where AI-driven solutions can add value improve efficiency or enable new capabilities.
• Exposure to writing Technical White Papers and systems design documents.
• Prior experience with federal or state governments IT projects.
