Job Title: Apartment Maintenance Technician

Location: Soledad, CA (Onsite)

Hourly Pay: $25-$7/hrper hour DOE

Temporary Assignment: Start ASAP

Position Overview: We are seeking a dependable and experienced Property Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day maintenance operations of an affordable housing community. This hands-on role is responsible for completing resident work orders, assisting with apartment turnovers, performing preventative maintenance, and helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and enjoys solving maintenance issues while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete resident work orders accurately and in a timely manner
• Perform general maintenance including painting, drywall repair, basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repairs
• Assist with apartment turnovers and prepare vacant units for new residents
• Perform preventative maintenance throughout the property
• Conduct daily property walks to identify maintenance or safety concerns and maintain curb appeal
• Coordinate with outside vendors for specialized repairs when needed
• Maintain maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment
• Build positive relationships with residents through professional and responsive customer service
• Follow company safety policies and maintenance procedures

Qualifications

• Previous apartment, property, or facilities maintenance experience preferred
• Experience with general plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, carpentry, and appliance repairs
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management and ability to prioritize multiple work orders
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Comfortable using a smartphone or computer to manage work orders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in affordable housing or multifamily communities
• Familiarity with Yardi or other property management software
• Knowledge of HUD or Tax Credit properties
