PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - PART TIME

Pharmacy TechnicianTo assist the pharmacist in the preparation of IV admixtures and other drugs, place wholesaler orders for stock replacement, and fulfill other duties necessary for the management of the pharmacy under the direction and supervision of the pharmacist at either the LS or GS pharmacy as needed.Minimum Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Requires a high school education or equivalent.A Pharmacy Technician certification is preferred.Previous experience in oncology preferredKnowledge and ability to perform basic mathematics is requiredKnowledge of medical terminology, aseptic technique, principles of drug distribution and good communication skills will also be required for retention.Familiarization with pharmacy stock and distribution procedures.Drug nomenclature.Dosage calculations.Commonly used drugs names.Uses of medications and the ability to read a prescription.Experience in IV admixture including use of syringes.Behaviors:Team Player: Works well as a member of a groupDetail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done wellEducation:High School or better.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
