Food Service Manager

Incumbent will create and maintain a safe, positive learning environment to ensure the holistic development of each student and staff member through cultural, social, spiritual, physical and academic experience. Incumbent will support the Bureau of Indian Education’s mission, which is to provide high quality education opportunities from early childhood through life while considering a tribe’s need for cultural and economic well-being. Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the BIE Job Category Standard. Education Requirements Bachelor of Arts degree in Restaurant Management from an accredited College or University. Associate degree or 60 college semester hours in food service management or culinary arts and two years related experience. High school or GED diploma and five years related experience. Successful completion of a one‑year (two semesters) training program/trade school in food service or cooking may be substituted for one year’s experience. Physical Requirements Ability to lift over 50 pounds and be in excellent physical condition. Requires continuous standing, walking, and stooping. Good distant vision in one eye and ability to read printed material the size of typewritten characters without strain (glasses permitted). Ability to hear a conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid. Some positions may be suitable for persons who are blind or deaf. An amputation of an arm, hand, leg or foot will not disqualify an applicant, although compensation with satisfactory prosthesis may be necessary. Applicants must possess mental and emotional stability. Incumbents may occasionally be required to travel for training or attendance at meetings away from the duty station. #J-18808-Ljbffr
