Facilities Electrical Engineer

Use Your Power for Purpose Overview The Facilities Electrical Engineer provides electrical and controls expertise to support site operations at the Pearl River, NY R&D site. This role is primarily focused on planning, oversight, and vendor management for facility electrical, power distribution, and automation systems (rather than day‑to‑day hands‑on electrical work). You will partner closely with internal teams and external contractors to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant facility operations, while contributing to capital planning, modernization efforts, and long‑term site strategies. What You Will Achieve Provide engineering oversight and technical guidance for facility electrical and controls systems in regulated laboratory and office environments. Oversee electrical engineering firms and contractor work related to power distribution, building systems, and critical utilities. Support operations, maintenance programs, and capital projects for primary and backup power distribution systems, building management systems (BMS), environmental monitoring systems (EMS), security, and fire alarm systems, and facility and critical utility control systems. Contribute to near- and long‑term capital planning, budgeting, and project execution. Provide technical input for risk management, EHS, business continuity, and compliance activities. Collaborate with digital/Business Technology teams on facility‑related automation and systems support. Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the Facilities/GWE organization. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience; or a master’s degree with more than 0+ years of experience; or an associate’s degree with 6 years of experience; or a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience. Understanding of the maintenance of electrical systems for HVAC and other facility‑related equipment. Proven ability to support facility operations, maintenance, and projects in regulated or technical environments. Demonstrated skills in project coordination, planning, and stakeholder management. Effective teamwork and collaboration with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and contractors to deliver critical customer service. Preferred Requirements Experience with BMS/automation platforms (e.g., Honeywell). Familiarity with pharmaceutical, laboratory, or regulated facility environments. Project management experience and use of CMMS/EAM systems. Working knowledge of PLCs, control systems, and smart/IoT building technologies. Work Environment Day shift with occasional after‑hours or weekend support for planned maintenance or facility incidents. Onsite presence in laboratories, mechanical/electrical rooms, and office environments as needed. Periodic travel may be required. Other Job Details Work Location: On Premise at the Pearl River, NY site. No relocation assistance available. Annual base salary ranges from $88,500.00 to $147,500.00. Eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 10.0% of the base salary.
