Assignment Overview

Contract Details

• Assignment Length: 13 or 26 weeks (traveler choice)
• Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 shifts (traveler choice)
• Weekend Requirements: 6 weekend days during the contract

Unit Description

Caring for a diverse population, this unit specializes in postpartum treatment following delivery. The facility supports high-risk obstetric patients and manages a high census of mothers and newborns.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-risk obstetric care, including management of postpartum patients.
• Assist with various procedures and protocols, such as magnesium therapy, Pitocin administration, and Foley placement.
• Monitor for and manage postpartum hemorrhage and substance withdrawal issues.
• Prepare to handle high-census situations, including managing a 4th couplet when necessary.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in high acuity postpartum care is required. First-time travelers may be accepted if they meet this criterion.
• Certifications: BLS and NRP certifications are required.
• Floating Requirements: Nurses may be required to float between postpartum and labor and delivery units.
• EPIC Experience: Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records is mandatory.
• Preferred Experience: JADA experience is an asset.
