Job Title: Machine Tool Electrician Job Description

This role focuses on installing, wiring, and troubleshooting machine tool and automation equipment, including conveyor and robotic lines, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The electrician will work with high-voltage systems up to 480V, interpret electrical prints, and ensure all installations meet quality and safety standards. The position involves project-based work and requires comfort with traveling between plant locations and an installation site in Southfield.

• Install and wire electrical panels and systems up to 240V and 480V, ensuring all components are correctly connected and functioning.
• Perform plug-and-play electrical installations for conveyor lines and robotic lines, following project specifications and safety guidelines.
• Read and interpret electrical prints and blueprints, accurately identifying components such as resistors and understanding all symbols and schematic details.
• Execute pneumatic installations on new equipment builds, integrating electrical and pneumatic systems as required.
• Build and wire machine tool and automation panels, including panel layout, component mounting, and internal wiring, when needed.
• Conduct electrical troubleshooting and maintenance on machine tools, automation equipment, and conveyor systems using multimeters and other diagnostic tools.
• Install and bend conduit, pull wire, and route cabling to support new installations and modifications to existing systems.
• Verify that all wiring, connections, and terminations meet project requirements and comply with applicable safety and quality standards.
• Use hand tools and test equipment such as wire strippers, crimpers, and multimeters to perform daily electrical tasks.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, meeting project timelines and adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
• Travel to plant locations and to the Southfield site as needed for installation projects and ongoing electrical work.

• Strong experience installing and wiring electrical panels and systems up to 240V and 480V.
• Ability to enter electrical panels and perform full wiring of 240V and 480V panels safely and accurately.
• Proficiency in plug-and-play electrical installation for conveyor lines and robotic lines.
• Advanced ability to read and interpret electrical prints, including identifying resistors and other components and understanding electrical symbols and schematics.
• Hands-on experience with pneumatic installations on new equipment builds.
• Skill in panel wiring and electrical component installation within machine tool and automation environments.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and electrical maintenance using multimeters and other test equipment.
• Capability to install, bend, and route conduit and to pull wire for new and existing installations.
• Comfort working with high-voltage systems and automation equipment in a production setting.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple project tasks.

• Panel build experience, including layout and assembly of electrical control panels (nice to have).
• Familiarity with machine tool electrical systems and automation installations.
• Experience working with conveyor lines and robotic lines in industrial settings.
• Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting techniques and use of multimeters for diagnostics.
• Ability to travel between plant locations and an installation site in Southfield as required for projects.

The role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing and installation environment where you will work directly on plant floors and at an installation site. The schedule currently offers approximately 40 hours per week to start, with typical hours from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., totaling around 45 to 50 hours per week. The standard workdays are Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays expected later in the project and occasional Sundays as needed, with double time available after reaching a specified weekly hour threshold. You will regularly use tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, and multimeters, and work around conveyor systems, robotic lines, and machine tools in an industrial setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Warren, MI.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Warren,MI.
