Summary:
The Chief Financial & Administrative Officer (CFAO) serves as Louisburg College’s senior financial and administrative leader and a core member of the President’s Cabinet. This role functions as the President’s principal operational partner who is responsible for strengthening financial discipline, integrating core administrative functions, and ensuring that institutional strategy translates into execution.
The individual in this role leads Finance, Facilities and Maintenance, and Information Technology to ensure financial clarity, operational alignment, and the execution needed for enrollment growth, student success, and long-term sustainability.
Core Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership, Operations & Institutional Strategy
o Develop and implement a multi-year financial strategy, including forecasting and modeling, aligned with institutional priorities.
o Advise the President and Board on financial performance, risk, and resource allocation.
o Continue to align financial strategy with enrollment, retention, and student success outcomes.
o Ensure accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting to the Board's Finance Committee, including budget-to-actual performance, cash flow, key financial indicators, and risk assessments.
o Lead annual operating and capital budgeting processes.
o Maintain rolling cash flow forecasts and liquidity management.
o Enhance visibility into cost structure, program performance, and financial drivers.
o Monitor systems, data, and operation integration, ensuring institutional capability of data integrity, access, and reporting.
o Manage Student Financial Lifecyle, overseeing student accounts, billing, receivables, and collections strategy.
o Ensure alignment between financial aid, student systems, and finance operations.
o Monitor alignment of Institutional Advancement Finances, ensuring the financial integrity of philanthropic funds and compliance with reporting requirements. Collaborate with Advancement leadership to align financial planning and fundraising execution.
o Endowment & Investment Oversight, serving as the primary liaison to the College’s investment manager(s) and reporting to the Board and Finance Committee on investment performance, asset allocation, risk exposure, and spending policy implications.
Administrative Leadership - Provide executive oversight of key administrative functions to ensure Facilities & Maintenance and IT operate as high-functioning systems that support institutional goals.
o Facilities & Maintenance
- Provides financial oversight of construction and renovation projects.
- Collaborates with Director, Facilities & Maintenance in responses to RFPs and negotiation of services to meet the needs of the institution.
o Information Technology
- Institutional technology strategy, systems integration, and infrastructure
- Data governance, cybersecurity, and platform reliability
- Alignment of IT systems with academic, enrollment, and administrative needs
Required Qualifications:
● Significant senior leadership experience in finance and operations
● Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and internal controls
● Experience overseeing or partnering closely with Facilities and IT functions
● Demonstrated ability to build systems, teams, and operational discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
● 5-10 years of senior experience in higher education or nonprofit institutional settings
● CPA, MBA, or related advanced credential
● Experience with ERP, SIS, and enterprise system integration
