Purpose of Your Job Position

To provide direct nursing care to residents, and supervise the day‑to‑day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Supervision must meet federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and shall be as required by the Director of Nursing Services or Nurse Supervisor to maintain the highest quality of care.

Delegation of Authority

As an LPN you hold the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability needed to carry out your assigned duties in accordance with state requirements.

Education

• Graduated from an approved LPN/LVN program.
• Participation in continuing education, workshops, or seminars offered by nursing organizations is desirable.

Experience

• On‑the‑job training provided.

Specific Requirements

• Current, unencumbered, active LPN/LVN license in Ohio.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Skill in dealing tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertinent to long‑term care.
• Capability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, and policies essential for quality care.
• Patience, tact, cheerfulness, and enthusiasm, with a willingness to handle challenging residents.
• Willingness to seek new methods, principles, and incorporate them into nursing practices.
• Ability to convey information about a resident's condition.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
