Portfolio Management Associate

POSITION SUMMARYPortfolio Management Associates provide exceptional service to our clients and support Financial Advisor(s) (FAs)/ Private Wealth Advisor(s) (PWAs)/ teams on a daily basis. As key members of the service team, they support FAs / PWAs/team with developing financial plans and investment strategies based on client goals. Leading with a client first mindset, a successful candidate for this role will have strong interpersonal skills and their focus will be on delivering an exceptional client experience. In supporting Financial Advisor(s) (FAs)/ Private Wealth Advisor(s) (PWAs)/ teams, this role requires an in depth understanding of market conditions, trends and overall economic outlook.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:At the direction of the FA/PWA/team, entering new or adjusting existing asset allocationsAt the request of the client and/or FA/PWA/team, preparing and reviewing various client reports from firm-approved systems for existing or prospective clientsAt the request of the client and/or FA/PWA/team, assisting with research using firm-approved systemsAt the request of FA/PWA/team, participating in existing client and/or prospective client meetings, representing the service lensAt the direction of the client or FA/PWA/team, making updates to clients’ estate, trust, retirement, and insurance objectivesReviewing new client prospects that are developed through leads and referrals in relation to the FA/PWA/team’s client service modelAt the direction of FA/PWA/team, executing against all clerical elements of digital and in-person marketing strategies including conferences and seminars or webinars, websites, social media and regular email connectivityProviding feedback and suggesting upgrades to Portfolio Management business partners on firm approved tools and resourcesEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:Education and/or Experience2+ years of experience in a field relevant to the position requiredFour-year college degree or professional certification preferredActive Series 7 (GS) and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA) requiredAdditional product licenses may be requiredKnowledge/SkillsKnowledge of financial services products, including but not limited to equities, bonds, options, mutual funds, annuities, insurance, and managed accountsTechnically proficient and quick learner of new and updated platformsJob DescriptionDetail oriented with superior organizational skills and ability to prioritizeExpert knowledge of basic personal computer, MS Office (particularly MS Excel) and internet applicationsExceptional writing, interpersonal and client service skillsStrong time management skillsTeam player with the ability to collaborate with othersAbility to work in a fast-paced, evolving environmentAdaptable and ability to multi-taskGoal oriented, self-motivated and results drivenReports to:Business Service OfficerWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
