Position Overview

KorTerra is seeking a Product Manager to own a key area of our 811 damage prevention platform, reporting to the Chief Product Officer. You will be responsible for deeply understanding customer problems, determining which opportunities matter most, and partnering with Engineering to deliver solutions that create measurable customer and business outcomes. You'll spend time with customers, including locators, damage prevention managers, and utility operations teams. You will turn those insights into product strategy, priorities, and measurable results. This role fits someone with B2B SaaS experience who wants ownership of real outcomes, is comfortable in the field with customers, and uses AI tools as part of how they work. 

What You'll Get to Do

Product Strategy & Roadmap

• Own the strategy and roadmap for your product areas, tied to company goals, customer outcomes, and revenue. 
• Identify and prioritize customer and market problems worth solving; make clear tradeoffs and explain the reasoning to Engineering, Sales, Customer Experience, and leadership. 
• Track changes in the market, including regulatory and 811 center changes, and competitor moves. 
• Work with the Chief Product Officer on planning and priorities across the product portfolio. 

Outcomes & Business Impact

• Define and drive success metrics for each initiative including adoption, retention, operational efficiency, churn reduction. 
• Review results after launch and decide whether to iterate, expand, or stop. 
• Provide product input on pricing, packaging, and positioning for your areas. 
• Report progress to leadership in terms of customer and business results. 

Customer Discovery

• Spend regular time with the people who use KorTerra, including locators, damage prevention managers, excavators, and utility operations teams, through interviews, site visits, ride-alongs, and usage data. 
• Keep a steady cadence of customer conversations and turn what you learn into written problem statements the team can act on. 
• Use AI to synthesize interview notes, support tickets, market research, and feedback so patterns surface quickly. 
• Bring customer evidence into prioritization and solution decisions. 

Delivery with Engineering

• Partner closely with Engineering to turn validated customer problems into clear product opportunities and solutions. 
• Write clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. 
• Keep the backlog prioritized against roadmap goals, with upcoming work shaped and ready ahead of development. 
• Use AI tools to draft specs, build prototypes, and test ideas with customers before committing engineering time. 

Go-to-Market & Stakeholder Alignment

• Partner with Sales, Customer Experience, and Marketing on launches, positioning, and customer enablement. 
• Join sales calls and customer meetings as the product expert for your domain. 
• Communicate roadmap priorities, tradeoffs, and progress clearly to internal teams and customers. 
• Align stakeholder expectations with delivery realities while protecting the team's focus.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, with ownership of a product area or major feature set. 
• Demonstrated ability to identify meaningful customer problems, set priorities and roadmap direction, and make tradeoffs across competing needs. 
• Experience working with complex, workflow-driven software platforms. 
• Clear writing, including requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. 
• Regular use of AI tools in your own work, such as for research synthesis, drafting specs, data analysis, or prototyping. 
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Data-driven mindset with experience using metrics to inform decisions. 
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
